Referrd
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
Referrd is software for professional referral groups. It is operated by Broosta LLC (“Broosta”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information Referrd holds, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
The short version: we keep what your group needs to run, we show it only to the people in your group who need it, we do not sell it, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
1. What we collect
Your account. Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider as a one-way hash; we cannot read them. You may also add a phone number.
Your profile. Anything you choose to add: company, job title, industry, a short bio, and a profile photo.
Your group’s activity. Referrals you give and receive, messages in your group’s chat, direct messages, your answers to meeting invitations, attendance records, dues status, and files and photos uploaded to your group.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address that provider shares with us. We do not receive your password for that account, and we do not post to it.
Technical information. Our hosting and infrastructure providers record standard request logs, such as IP addresses and the time of a request, to operate and secure the service.
2. People you refer
When a member passes a referral, they record details about the prospect: their name, company, email address, phone number, and notes. That person has not signed up for Referrd and has not agreed to anything with us.
We treat that information as belonging to the referral, not as a marketing list. It is visible only to the member who gave the referral, the member who received it, and your group’s administrators. We never contact prospects ourselves, and we never use their details for any purpose of our own.
If you are someone who was referred and want your details removed, email hello@referrd.app and we will remove them.
3. How we use it
We use your information only to run Referrd for your group:
- to sign you in and keep your account secure;
- to show your group its referrals, meetings, attendance, chat and files;
- to send you account email, such as password resets;
- to answer you when you contact us.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles. Referrd contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts.
4. Who can see what
Access is enforced by the database itself, not just by what the app chooses to show. Members of one group cannot see another group’s information at all.
- Your profile and the member directory — the members of the groups you belong to.
- A referral — the member who gave it, the member who received it, and the group’s administrators.
- Group chat, meetings, files and photos — the members of that group.
- Attendance — the members of that group. Roll call is shared with the group.
- Direct messages — only the people in that conversation.
- Dues — you and your group’s administrators. Other members cannot see whether you have paid.
Your group’s administrators can manage its membership, record attendance and dues, and moderate its chat.
Calendar subscriptions. If you subscribe to your Referrd calendar from another calendar app, that feed is reached through a private link. Anyone who has the link can read the meetings in it, so treat it like a password.
5. Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run Referrd. They process information only on our behalf.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored in the United States.
- Vercel — hosts the Referrd website and app.
- Cloudflare — provides DNS for referrd.app. Your traffic does not pass through it.
- Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with one of them.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while you are a member of a group on Referrd, and for as long as your group needs its records.
Some things are kept on purpose because a group’s history depends on them. When a member leaves, they are marked inactive rather than erased, so that referrals they gave and received still add up. A retracted chat message leaves a “message retracted” marker. A deleted file or photo is hidden from the group but remains visible to your administrators and to whoever uploaded it.
If you want your information permanently erased, email hello@referrd.app. We will delete or anonymize it, keeping only what we are legally required to.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update your profile at any time from within Referrd. You can also ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop processing your information for any purpose you object to.
Email hello@referrd.app. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we will honor them. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them.
9. Security
Connections to Referrd are encrypted. Access to every group’s data is enforced in the database for each request, so one group’s information cannot be read from another group’s account. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.
10. Children
Referrd is a professional tool for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you before it takes effect.
12. Contact
